The journey is the destination

Explore Alpine-Mediterranean dream landscapes in South Tyrol’s South

Sparkling lakes, flourishing vineyards, vibrant gardens, lush meadows, sunlit forests, and towering cliffs – the landscapes around St. Justina Hof are as diverse as they are breathtaking. From leisurely valley strolls to challenging mountain treks on the Mendola or in the nearby Dolomites, there’s a trail for every taste.

From the lakes...

The loop around the large and small Monticolo lakes takes about two hours and is family-friendly. A spacious car park is available, and the paths are wide and relatively flat. At the end of your walk, you can take a refreshing dip in the lake or stop by the lakeside inn for a treat. By contrast, the Leuchtenburg ruins sit atop the hill overlooking Lake Caldaro. This landmark can be reached from the hamlet of Klughammer in roughly two hours. Two route options are available: a longer but easier path and a shorter, more challenging climb. Once there, you can ascend an iron staircase to explore the castle’s interior and enjoy breathtaking views of the lake!

... to lofty heights

The Three Castles Walk is a moderately difficult 2-3 hour tour that starts right in San Paolo. It takes you to the so-called Eppan Castle Triangle, which includes Hocheppan Castle with its Romanesque chapel, the Boymont Castle ruins, and Schloss Korb, now a luxury hotel. The Appiano high trail, on the other hand, winds along the Mendola ridge on scenic forest paths, offering fantastic views of Appiano, Oltradige, and the Bolzano basin. And that’s not all: here are even more hiking tips available, and we’re happy to provide personal recommendations during your stay!
